An expired certificate in the Duo Federal environment potentially disrupted authentication attempts for customers using the Azure authentication service. The issue was initially reported by a single customer, but further investigation indicated that additional customers may have been affected, even if they did not report issues.

This was the result of an internal certificate used in the Azure authentication workflow that had expired.

The Duo engineering team identified the expired certificate and replaced it, fully resolving the issue by approximately 1:00 PM CST on June 21.
